Bakers & Roasters

This bright, modern cafe and roastery is a delight to brunch in. The cool thing about Bakers & Roasters is that it was founded by a Kiwi and a Brazilian so the menu and overall cafe aesthetic reflects a fusion between both New Zealand and Brazil. The coffee here is brewed in-house and tastes amazing, plus the menu is diverse offering more than just your typical brunch classics like eggs and pancakes - but also sandwiches, salads, hearty brunch bowls, milkshakes and brunch cocktails. If you’re really hungry, we recommend ordering the Kiwi Brekkie or Huevos Rancheros. This cafe partners with local farmers as much as it can to source its ingredients. A lot of the produce is locally sourced including the freshest free-range eggs, pork sausages, bacon and bread. There are two Bakers & Roasters locations in Amsterdam: one in De Pijp and the other in Kadijksplein.

Little Collins

For some alfresco brunching in the summer, head to Little Collins, a local favourite with two locations; one in Oud-West and a branch in De Pijp. Little Collins is an Aussie-run cafe inspired by Melbourne’s food and drinking culture, so if you’re up for a bit of a boozy brunch, Little Collins you covered. The flavoursome, punchy menu is innovative and experimental: we particularly love the Breakfast Ramen, Chickpea Pancake and the Soy Glazed Pork Belly with cabbage omelette. There are plenty of veggie options too (the chipotle cauliflower is a winner). The outside seating area is the perfect place to enjoy early afternoon eating and relaxing with friends. The inside is cool too; this joint has a very trendy minimalist interior with warmth added from hanging plants and greenery dotted around the cafe.

If you love a good omelette to start your morning, there’s no better place than Omelegg, a cafe specialising in hearty omelettes. Serving up the best omelettes in Amsterdam, this little place takes walk-in customers only so try and get there early. Using the best ingredients and prepared on the spot, your omelette couldn’t get any more fresh. You can choose different toppings and fillings for your omelette and portion sizes are hearty served with bread or salad. An Egg-cellent brunch spot if we must say so ourselves. There’s an Omelegg in Amsterdam’s city centre, not far from the Red Light District. There’s also another branch in De Pijp.
