Our youth hostel is located in a typical old-Amsterdam mansion, overlooking the pretty Vondelpark.

Uptown Hostel Highlights

The Flying Pig Uptown Hostel is known for its great mix of a relaxed and funky atmosphere, and a real party vibe! Our epic bar has daily happy hour and drink deals all day and night. If you fancy a smoke, make use of our indoor smoking area. Our hostel is a great place to meet new friends, have a party - and to explore the city with easy access to the main sites.

Whether you’re after a sociable dorm, a female-only dorm or a private room, we have something for everyone. There are 30 different rooms, with dorms that sleep up to 3-14 people.

We have a fully equipped, self-service kitchen available for you to use – free of charge.

Please note: We don’t have a lift in our building.

Directions to Uptown

From Schiphol Airport to the Uptown hostel
Bus 197 runs straight from Schiphol airport to the Uptown. From Schiphol, walk outside to busstop 'Plaza/NS'. Take Bus 197 destination Amsterdam. Get off at bus stop 'Rijksmuseum'  and walk in the direction the bus is going and take a left at the Vossiusstraat. The bus ride costs around €5 (you can buy a ticket on the bus) and takes 30 minutes. Buses leave every 15 mins and after 1am every hour on the night bus N97.

From Amsterdam Central Station to the Uptown hostel
Take tram 2 or 5 and get off at tram stop 'Rijksmuseum', one stop past the famous Leidseplein bar area. Walk back 150 meters in the direction the tram came from and turn left into the Vossiusstraat, we are at number 46.

From Station Amsterdam Sloterdijk to the Uptown Hostel 
From Station Amsterdam Sloterdijk (Oui Bus and Flix Bus Stop) to the Uptown PigTake tram 12 and get off at tram stop ‘ Van Baerlestraat’. Walk back onto the street the tram is running and take the 3rd street on your right, this is the Vossiusstraat, we are at number 46.

From Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station
Take a train directly from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. Buy a ticket from a machine or at the desk (more expensive). This train ride will cost around €4 (one-way ticket) and takes about 12 minutes. Then take a tram to the Uptown, see above.
