Extreme sports in and around Noordwijk
Why not enhance your stay at the The Flying Pig Beach Hostel with a trip to the superb indoor snowdome in Den Haag (The Hague)!
The indoor ski centre is part of De Uithof, Den Haag’s giant indoor leisure facility. Perhaps the most impressive feature at De Uithof is the 220 meter long indoor ski slope that stays open all year round - allowing visitors to fine-tune their skiing and snowboarding skills whatever the weather.
The snowdome is packed with real snow 365 days a year, while the two draglifts and two carpet lifts that haul skiers and boarders to the top of the indoor ski slope manage to eradicate most of the queues on the slope. And, of course, a visit to the snowdome in Den Haag (The Hague) is a great way of obtaining some über cheap slope time.
The indoor snow is brushed on a regular basis and the temperature inside the ski centre is kept to a nippy minus 5 degrees Celsius to help maintain the excellent quality of the snow. If you don’t have your own skiing or snowboarding equipment then don’t despair - you can hire quality Rossignol, Nordica and Burton tackle from the onsite shop.
And if you happen to be a complete skiing or snowboarding novice you’ll certainly benefit from a session or two with one of the certified instructors who work at the De Uithof ski school. Pick a tutorial package that suits your requirements and within no time whatsoever the professional instructors will have you hurtling down the indoor slope!
Den Haag (The Hague) is situated 20 miles from The Flying Pig Beach Hostel in Noordwijk. You can pick up a return bus ticket for no more than €5!
