Our Backpackers self service kitchen at the Uptown Hostel Amsterdam

Cooking for yourself is the cheapest way to go and so all of our Amsterdam Hostels have a fully equipped, self-service kitchen available for you to use - for free! The kitchen in our Uptown Hostel is quite large and has enough pots and pans for you to cook up a gourmet meal with your new friends. Don’t worry about the groceries there are a couple of stores just around the corner!

Lots of guests have already used to kitchen so you can imagine there are many spare groceries left over. To make sure this doesn’t end up in the trash we have a special free food shelf in the kitchen, so if you’re lucky, there might even be enough food left over for you to have a free dinner.

If you’re struggling to find inspiration then check out our Best Pig Recipes. On our forum we also have a special spot where you can place all of your recipes - concocted in our Pig kitchen, or at home. The best recipes will be posted on our Pig Blog too!

If you don’t fancy cooking for yourself then we suggest everything on the menu at Belushi’s on the Warmoestraat. Belushi's in Amsterdam is famous for it’s awe inspiring burgers - the best ones in town! All Piggies get a discount at Belushi’s so be sure to bring your key card along.
