The Smoking area at the Uptown Hostel Amsterdam
Amsterdam is known for its tulips, windmills, and the red light district but above all, it’s known for its coffee shops and the fact that you’re allowed to smoke weed! To make sure you’re comfortable when trying some of Amsterdam’s finest, we have a separate smoking room - just a few steps away from the bar. So just sit down, relax, have a smoke and get a drink at the same time!
The smoking room at The Uptown Hostel is at the front of the Hostel, overlooking the park. It has many cosy couches to crash on and a relaxing atmosphere – perfect for getting to know other travellers and new friends. Don’t worry if you’d prefer to visit a coffee shop though - because they’re always just around the corner.
In the old days you were allowed to smoke everywhere in the Flying Pig Hostels, but because of the smoking ban introduced in 2008, you’re not allowed to smoke in places where people are working.
