As quoted from the movie Dazed and Confused… “don’t forget this summer when you’re being inundated with all that July 4th America brew-ha-ha that what you’re really celebrating is the fact that a bunch of aristocratic white men didn’t want to pay their taxes!” This summer is Holland we get back to the basics of America’s Independence Day; ANARCHY! On July 14th, The Flying Pig Downtown travels to France to celebrate the storming of the Bastille, which took place on 14 July 1789 and marked the beginning of the French Revolution. The Bastille was a prison and a symbol of the absolute and arbitrary power of Louis the 16th's Ancient Regime. Again we’re getting down to the basics of Independence here with a pattern of ANARCHY! On August 10th, The Flying Pig Downtown travels to Africa to celebrate their traditional food and music. Africa has endured centuries of suffering and deprivation in a world of plenty. Capitalism has indisputably failed to provide even a minimum standard of living to Africans. Let’s come together to celebrate the hope of ANARCHY! and independence for the people of Africa. This revolution will not be televised, you’ll have to be in the bar from 8 till late to join in!
