Long live the internet! You may already know how to book your bed on our website and find out just about anything on Amsterdam and The Flying Pig Hostels, but there’s much more free stuff that can you can do...even if you’re not staying with us! Everything below can be found here
The Amsterdam City Guide
We’ve created a free Amsterdam City Guide for you with information about how to get around, where to eat, drink & goclubbing. Really everything you’ll ever want to know about Amsterdam is in there, and available on our website as a free downloadble PDF-file. And once you check in at one of the Flying Pig Backpacker Hostels, you get a free map with it.
The Amsterdam Podscroll
We know how much you love your I-pod, and how useful it can be for other things than music. Similar to the city guide, so that's why we also made a podscroll specifically for your I-pod (may work on other advanced players too!), so you’ll never have to be without pocket-sized information about Amsterdam while you’re here.
Alternative Crossing Over Walking Tour
Of course it’s a lot of fun to discover Amsterdam by yourself, but you may just miss out on the wealth of inside information a guide can offer you during a walking tour. We offer you the great free “Alternative Crossing Over Walking Tour”, which you can check and print from our website, and where we leave the touristy hot spots and instead explore the real Amsterdam.
Red Light Audio Tour
Already booked with us and have an MP3-player? (any type will do, or you can also borrow one from us when you’re here!)) Then you can download a free copy of our “Red Light Audio Tour”, and see this infamous little piece of Amsterdam at your own pace, with all the info you’ll ever want coming straight from your headphones.
New Amsterdam Tour
Every day at 11am & 3pm this free tour leaves from the tourist information centre at the Central train station, and a local guide (often ex-backpackers themselves) will take you along the main sights of the inner city. Plenty of history and entertainment are guaranteed during the 3-hour walk, and it’s really a great introduction to Amsterdam.
The 11 o'clock tour is also available in Spanish and there are pick ups from the Flying Pig Downtown and Uptown hostels at 10:30 every day.
So head over to our website and check the “Pig Services” tab to kick off your Amsterdam experience!
