Okay, we all know about the Oscars, but did you ever hear about the Hoscars? Every year Hostelworld -the biggest internet booking company in the world- gives out Oscars to the best hostels on the globe. What makes this price extra important in hostel-owner-land is that the backpackers themselves act as judge and jury. Every traveler that booked their trip with Hostelworld put out their vote for that year's awards.

2009 Thanks to all of you...
The Flying Pig was rated best hostel of the Netherlands again this year!! We couldn't have done this without our beloved staff and guests.  Good times, thanks everyone! 

In 2004 we were voted the No. 2 hostel in the world

Thanks for voting for us guys! We are very proud and grateful to you to have been rated in the top ten of best hostels in the world! We aim to stay amongst the best and to only improve what we have, so we'll herewith solemnly swear to keep working our butts off!!

In 2003 ( the first year the hoscars were given) we were voted No 1 in the world by you.


For this very important event we had sent out our own Charlie's angel, Drew Barrymore look a like, in a great H&M outfit,  especially created for the occasion.
Camera's flashed on the catwalk, gossip got exchanged and the alcohol flowed.

After a couple of nerve wrecking hours, the top ten hostels of the year 2003 got revealed.
Much to our surprise, the Flying Pig turned out to be voted the number one hostel in the world!!!

Of course the managers got thanked (as you do) as did the producers (oh no wait a minute) but above all our Piggie Staff and our backpackers that made all this possible!
Tears were shed, congratulations all round, more champagne. In short a great night in Pig history!
